   I've got a question.
In the official Post Your November picture of the month column there are only 6 pictures. Yet we have 12 pictures to vote for?
Where did the other 6 come from?

One is mine which I used in a posting but never considered it good enough for the competition (and I didn't vote for it).

Mine too.

I don't know which of the above were submitted by the owners. 🤔

PS. I didn't vote for mine either.

Archie

They've all been submitted to the forum, in the previous month, in various subsections.

Just to say that I don't object to my photo being entered. In my opinion it wasn't good enough.

It's a thankless task. Sometimes I struggle to find enough pictures.
In that case I trawl through what's been posted in the "What have you done with your Series 2 Today" topic and other postings on the forum.

This collection took a few hours work to assemble. The images go through Photoshop to resize and sometimes to "adjust" the exposure and tweak the focusing and sharpness. The essence of the original remains.
This time round there were 3 images in a "strange" format that took a lot of deviousness to get into a jpeg format.

In the forum's Terms and Conditions you have agreed that we/I can use any images posted on the forum as we see fit to promote the club and the Series 2 Land Rovers. The copyright always remains with the photographer.

Sharpe eyed users will have noted that there is a Series 3 in one of the images - a rare event, but sometimes it happens.

Else we could have pictures of my garage  ???

Another vote for Alan's Garage!

Also lending a vote for "At the car show" given my experience has been the exact opposite - folks crowding around everything bar my poor Landie!

I presume a picture can be submitted, so long as it was a November picture from any year? Or am I overthinking it 😝

jkhackney

Thanks for your effort, Alan, I like to just look at pictures of members' Series (and the garage photo is wonderful, even if your Series looks a bit strange these days)!

I didn't vote for my photo, either, for the same reason: that it's photographically not the best artwork.

BUT ... it turns out that I voted for the current leader!

So a few of us share good taste, anyway!  :cheers

The "competition" (as we don't actually have a prize as such - just the fame and glory of winning) is Picture of the Month - PoM

It's supposed to be for pictures taken during the month in question, to get folks out there with their "cameras" and Land Rovers. As opposed to people searching their archives for any picture taken years ago, but in the month in question. As this is the Series 2 Club Forum then really the subjects should be Series 2 Land Rovers (1958-71). That said in recent times more and more S1 and S3 owners visit our forum, and indeed many folks own examples of all the Series models. So perhaps we'll concentrate more on the PoM aspect than the actual Land Rover model, maybe my P4 can creep in  ???

At the end of the day it's down to you good folks to post up entries, rather than me having to search back through the previous month looking for interesting pictures.

Should people vote for their own entry/picture  ???

I don't know the answer. I don't vote for anything I've posted. As said there's no "prize" involved it's meant to be a bit of fun.

I could as Forum Admin "manipulate" the votes - I don't.

The "better" quality pictures do come out as PoM winners and they find there way onto the website promoting Land Rovering. It's nice to see the vehicles out and about in interesting scenery and pictures from overseas locations are always interesting or pictures of a good rebuild etc. etc.
Or even images that have been run through, rinsed and filtered in Photoshop.

  Hi Allan

Thanks  for doing this, we shall all try harder in the future.
I did not drive my Dormobile in November this year so no picture from me.

Ill try to get it out in December.
Its just that as soon as the weather girl says the temperature might "just might mind you" get down to 5 degrees Celsius the salt trucks come out of hibernation.

Just as a side note I do not vote for myself either.........unless nobody else does.  :cheers-man
