What are you trying to do

Re-pipe the whole vehicle, and are you expecting to make up your own pipes to suit

Firstly, in that "kit" I think there are far too many bits.

It is bad form to mix imperial and metric sizes.

Stick to imperial measurements.

It was just to have spares in case a fitting broke etc, not easy to know exactly what thread etc

Please read all the recent posts about wiper motors and switches.

I don't want the chap to buy a load of parts that he doesn't need.

Likewise, there may be a case for buying a pre-made kit of pipes

From this diagram the brake (sic)    down of fittings needed:-

Brakes:
3 flexi hoses - RTC3386
9 male ³/₈" - HU1 for ³/₁₆" pipe
3 female ³/₈" HU1A for ³/₁₆" pipe

Bean can reservoir to m/c
1 male & 1 female ⁷/₁₆" - HU4 and HU4A for ¹/₄" pipe
Plus
HU30 3-way T-piece on rear axle for ³/₁₆" pipe
HU31 4-way junction for ³/₁₆" pipe (this is for a late 2A with an electric brake light switch - earlier 5-way junctions are harder to find).

Clutch:
1 male & 1 female ⁷/₁₆" - HU4 and HU4A for ¹/₄" pipe for bean can reservoir to m/c.
and
1 male & 1 female ³/₁₆" fittings - HU1 and HU1A
and 1 flexi hose - RTC3386

(I think I've totted up what's required )

I prefer brass fittings over s/s.
Teflon, s/s braided PTFE flexi hoses are very good, last longer and don't swell up under pressure.

It's most unlikely you'll ever break a fitting. Fittings might be destroyed if you cross thread, or the hex bit get rounded off 
If you are careful this shouldn't happen.
However, it's worth having a few HU1 & HU1A's in stock, just in case you need to make a new pipe up 
Automec orders usually delivered in a couple days.

HU = Automec part numbers
RTC3386 = Land Rover part number

I have absolutely no issues with any replies, I think this forum is fantastic, ok I am probably over cautious and ask silly questions but if we knew everything we wouldn't need to post then where would the fun be, on a serious note I was changing my clutch master cylinder and the fitting was getting worn and that's why I asked the question 👍

The only thing I would add is that I think this kind of question should be in the 'Workshop wisdom' bit. It's not the only one and it's starting to look like both sections have the same kind of content.

It started out as which bits to get rather than how to do the job.

Pigeon-holing forum topics can be hard at times.
