And here's a pic of a Superwinch Husky on my series 3. The mount is a homemade affair adapted from a later 90/110 bumper mount.
This winch replaced a Fairy pto-driven mechanical drum winch which I managed to break in the forestry - great winch but as said above it was extraordinarily heavy. 28 years later I still haven't removed the pto drive...

You could go something really 'old school'; neither require hydraulics or electronics.

I really like the 3rd one.

On the topic of plasma rope, does it lay flatter on the drum than wire hence does not alter the effective diameter and hence the pull capacity as much.

Yes it does lay flatter. Much easier to handle than the original wire rope.
