After I sold the restored 88", with a meticulously revived sign written hard top with period phone number and text, I believe the new owner swapped it for a full tilt.

Bit annoyed as i made  good few posts and it seemed there were only a handful of other forum members keeping the forum active. This just looks like an attempt to turn forum members into paid full members. It's just a poor attempt at income generation for someone. Any fully paid up members care to comment?

My EMLRA forum credentials aren't being recognised either. Looks like they've nuked the old forum accounts and started from scratch. What a shame. I used the EMLRA forum heavily some years ago when I had a Rover 8 and a Series 3 Lightweight. Though it had gotten VERY quiet on there in recent years.

IIRC, the EMLRA Facebook group is also restricted to paid members only. Seems a bit closed minded to me.

A vehicle's body has never counted for anything in the DVLA points system - unless you are talking about a monocot body shell, which a Land Rover hasn't.

You could make a Land Rover body out of tea chests (and people have) and nobody (sic) would bat an eye lid.

I have looked at it and frankly, I'm a bit concerned.

Plenty of talk of new/replica bodies on original chassis.

However, no mention of original bodies on new/replica chassis - which affects the replacement new chassis that we use.

Am I reading it correctly?

Looks good!
Where did you get the clips from? I will need some at some point soon.

Thanks all,
Autorover's suggestion for the Series 3 makes good sense, so will run with that. I think with the Series 2, it should remain as a pickup and let any future owner change it if they feel the need. Personally I like it with so much local history.

Adam1958, I think I will sell the truck cab off the Series 3 as a complete assembly. The roof is almost prefect with only a few minor small dents/bows and the back section is also very good. Even the paintwork is acceptable (DBG). Given that truck cabs without dents and no holes are quite desirable, I think I'll sell as a complete unit.

Trial-fitted new one-piece middle row door from Paintman Panels.

Drilled four holes in it to fit a replacement galvanised side trim. (Picked up ten years ago at a Show - it pays to plan ahead!)

Now setting about replacing the blown and warped door trims, using new hardboard and new clips.

Everyone will have a different favourite.

Personally, I would follow Autorover's suggestion and offer them for sale with buyer's choice of top.
