General Discussion / Import registration numbers
Last post by JohnR2 - Today at 07:55 AM
What is people's experience with the number allocated to an import? do Swansea give it an area code to the registration district or just a random one? I thought I'd be cheeky and ask if it's possible to have a Brum number or a Dorset area one - we'll see!

The only number I'd be interested in would be his !

I'm certainly not one to complain but his thrusting face and attitude is abusive and borderline assault deserving formal reprimand !

It was a recent renewal so I knew how much the renewal premium was. All to help my case I thought.
Yes your right and I was pretty annoyed about it but at the time I did not really think about pursuing it.

I've certainly seen fog lights described as "fog guard" lights.

Same here! Thanks very much for all your help.
The box is half in but I've just discovered that the Series 3 box seems to use different mounting bolts to the Series 2  :thud
I'll have a rummage through my spare bolts box tomorrow  :cheers-man

Had a visit from London! Oddjob came by to pick up a steering box. Very nice to put a face to the name.

They a huge range of rubber extrusions, but as far as I am aware, not vehicle specific. Which seals are you after?

Quote from: Space-Kook on Yesterday at 01:50 PMthere are companies that buy all the driving test slots and then sell them for ludicrous prices.

Seen that too. £400-500 to jump the queue. And... a premium to get a car to tie in. Usually another £250.

At that age, I took my moped test at 16, my motorcycle at 17, and my car. The moped test at 16 was rather unusual,  the rest hardly news - considered rites-of-passage.

Don't talk to me about my first house at 21. Back then it was priced £18750 - 2 1/4 times my gross salary. That house is worth £420-450,000 today. By that measure, any  21YO needs to earn £180,000 a year for a house. The same job now  pays about £40,000., and if... if a 21YO gets  that job he's done well. Back then it was normal.

Space-Kook, you have my sympathy.

Well, from one ex TA fella, I have one piece of the jigsaw:

A 'Rear Guard' is a military force or manoeuvre. eg when trying to board the craft at the beaches of Dunkirk, there would  be a 'Rear Guard' to stop the Germans attacking the beach, thus they operated a 'Rear Guard' manoeuvre.

Why there's use for a fog-light or any light come to that, to indicate any part of this manoeuvre beats me and the TA fella I know. Surely a light is the last thing a Rear Guard wants?

Will keep digging.

New front bulb holders turned up today.  They are getting a coat of paint before fitting.  Checked and adjusted the front brakes whilst it was up in the air to do the track rod ends.
