Which Insurance company did you renew with ?
Mine just gone up £30 with Hagerty. Not a large cash increase, but percent wise a big leap.

I may have mentioned before so edited highlight.
I was stopped by Police whilst driving my Wife's car. Officer said I wasn't insured, I assured him I was and gave insurance company name, and premium !
He quoted ANPR and said our system says you are not insured, moving right in front of my face he then asks 'IS THAT THE CASE' ?
His colleague then shouts over "It's ok that one". The one in my face just turns around and says 'ok you can go, as he walks away.
Pointless I know, but for my four-Peneth-worth I shout after him. OK Sorry About That !

Thanks, I'll check the valve out.

:cheers-man

Sadly not that  :'(
The valve stem has perished and the air comes out faster than I can pump it in  :shakinghead

I had that once Alan.
I checked the tyre pressures one day, topped them all up, came back the next day having not moved the car at all and one was flat.
It turned out to be the valve that was sticky / dirty and disturbing it the day before caused it not to seal again when I took the compressor off. A new valve and re-inflated and still good to this day.

Here's a Series 2A bottom radiator hose 530585 connecting a Series 3 radiator to a 2.5 petrol engine.
Best I can do for clarity.

Quote from: diffwhine on Yesterday at 08:06 AMThe maths probably stacks up on that one.

It does. One year's NCB via moped/motorcycle is exactly how my lad got his. Moped premium was £700ish, and yes - definitely the way to go.
His car premium was only £4500 as a result. I can't quite believe I simply dismiss a mere £4500 as cheap, however compare to not being quoted, or the numbers in the £10-20,000 region, never doubt... it is.

If you do doubt this: Go put your 17YO self into a price-comparison site.

I kid not, prepare to be told to go forth and multiply.

You won't get a driving-test anyway. Usually a 6-7 month wait. The trick there is to leave any major town and city well alone. My boy booked a test 250 miles away. Pendle. Nothing there, therefore you'll get a test fairly quick.

Be minded what I said there: if you fail say twice, it can easily be gone 18 BEFORE you have a licence. Hence Pendle.

I tells you now, we thought we had it hard at that age, that's only one example of how we had it so, so easy.

The maths probably stacks up on that one. Not something I'd ever considered, but can you use a bike driver history on a car?

Its about to come round and bite me soon as my 17 year old son is keen to get behind the wheel...

Hi.

I oft wonder if a years  (or even two) NCD would be worth paying for a year's insurance premium for a cheap moped ... even if Junior never actually rode it?

I've just checked page 1O 05 of the Series 2A parts list and 530585 is item 58, shown as a bottom hose for a radiator with a straight outlet.

From memory that part number is for the military 24v front cover. IIRC the 2.5 petrol was offered for 110s and 90s with that cover with factory fitted air con.
