Title: What are these?
Post by: Alan Drover on Jul 19, 2023, 10:15 AM
I found these in my stash of spares. Anyone know what they are for?
Sorry about the sideways photo.

Trailer fasteners. "sword pin fasteners"

The group on the right are definitely Sankey leg pins. One at the front and 2 at the back.
Those on the left look similar, but not on my Sankey.
It's quite likely that these fittings could have been used on other (MoD) trailers.

The pins on the left of AD's photo are of a larger diameter.

Possibly for the towing pintle on a Sankey?
As shown in my second photo.

I've just found my military spare parts book for the Sankey wide track trailer and the 2 pins on the left in the photo are leg support pins for it. Only 2 were used on the wide track as it has a jockey wheel. I don't know if mine are for the MK1 or 2 as the illustration shows the same pin but the military part numbers are different.
