I drilled out the solid rivets yesterday that I'd used to fit the tub floor support rails in place so I could replace the dpm strips I'd sandwiched between them and the floor with Duralac and pop riveted them back in place, then bolted the tub on proper ahead of further reassembly.

Still chipping away at this spare gearbox. It selects all the gears and everything seems to co round nice and smooth, so hopefully I haven't cocked it up too bad.
I had a a few different workshop manuals open. And interestingly there's a few contractions... I had an old gearbox article from an issue of CLR which had great pictures... but, they have the syncro hub in the wrong way round.

Many years ago at a Land Rover event at Beaulieu I bought a refurbished Karcher pressure washer powered by a Tecumseh engine. It's had very little use so this afternoon I tried to start it after a very long lay up. A drop of fresh E5, primed it, pulled the starter cord and it burst into life first pull.
Now to clean off all the crud underneath the Land Rover.

Quote from: NoBeardNoTopKnot on Yesterday at 09:17 PMNice pix, have ask, what's that vent do?

It's the inlet for the defender heater box. Rather than having a vent in the wing top, reading the literature for the Kodak heater this is where their inlet is situated.
By fitting it in between the wings it's in an area of positive pressure when moving.

Sorry,

I didn't answer the question ...

...

Every so often, the local rebels would "hit" one of the Huzzar's Ferret "scout cars" (armoured cars to you and me) with a land mine. The RAF would respond by "buzzing" the rebel camps at low level, with their Hawker Hunter fighter jets.

That meant flying low down the valleys, with the Bad Guys firing down on them, taking some hits.

Ask your Dad (or maybe Google) to explain what a "Goolie Chit" is.

I got my General Service with Arabia Peninsular clasp for that "do", followed a few years later with something similar for the Malaysian Peninsular ... my Bloodhound Missiles were defending the Australians at RAAF Butterworth ... they were fighting in Vietnam. The Malaysian Prime Minister awarded the Pingat Jassa to medal the Commonwealth troops based at Butterworth ...questions were asked in THE HOUSE, as that meant us receiving two medals for one campaign ... and we wouldn't want that ... would we?

Parliament eventually "backed down).  :cheers-man

Our new Ausie CO did not arrive, from 'Nam' ... believed shot down.

Isn't it s2c-0 and then your membership number rather than the 0 at the end?
