Would this winch be suitable for a series 2a with overdrive , is it an older type, thanks

No, that is usually powered by a drop PTO that would be fitted where the overdrive goes.
The old days are the old days only because there're gone and won't be back.

You could possibly use it with and overdrive if you could find a bottom pto? Very rare to find one though.

V heavy winch but pulls well.
