The thing about 13 month MoTs that annoys me is that a 13 month MoT is only actually available to a vehicle that passes its test exactly one month before the old one's expiry date. You can't present  a vehicle several months before the old expiry date and get 13 months from the date of the test which just seems illogical to me.

Hi Kev,

Having to have an MOT test is a PITA. MOTs don't scare me, but I had to queue for anything up to an hour, despite being outside the garage welll before the doors opened at 0830.

Perhaps their NO PASS, NO FEE had something to do with that?

I've more to say, but my girls have just arrived ... 0712hrs.

At my  local tester, book a slot , turn up on time & max wait has been 15 mins. All my vehicles have an Mot & it gives me a chance to have a good look underneath on a lift that I cannot do at home   . Also does not charge the maximum allowed.

My local tester is pretty good, usually in at the booked time, they arent really interested in MOT type repairs as the garage side is very busy but they do let you have a good look underneath
