Morning, as you all know I have taken out my 2 1/4 diesel and put in a 2 1/4 petrol, but my question is as I already bought the wiring loom for the diesel engine do I follow that wiring diagram for a diesel and do alterations to suit the petrol or do I follow the petrol wiring diagram from the start, thanks

Gareth

I don't think there is a lot of wiring to add for petrol. Just a switched live to the coil, and a wire to the distributor from coil.

The glowplug wiring will be redundant.

The Dynamo/Alternator will be the same.

The temp sensor and oil pressure will be the same.

Petrol engines have an 'Otter switch' which puts a yellow light on in the speedo when it reaches a certain temperature. This needs a feed via the choke cable switch.

I personally would wire for petrol first if that's what your going to end up with.
