That's great work.
I'll be doing something similar with a S3 kit.

None of the kits seem to do an 88" and there are very few S2's.

My plan is to make a replica of my own S2a. 1:35 scale.

I have the kit in a box, following a house move and hope to get around to it this winter.

For anyone who may be interested, this is my progress so far. I have made the basics of the tractor unit section, this is made from a heavily modified Revell 1/24 Series 3 station wagon. Cut down to 88" wheel base, the ride height has been lowered to a more realistic level. I have fitted a resin Series 2 front end and cut the body down and fitted a resin truck cab. All resin parts from Motobitz Decals.

I have scratch built the Dixon-Bate 5th wheel coupling and mounting.

I have started to scratch build the trailer. I have decided to build the 9.5' wide flat bed version as it is easier to model. The swan neck part of the trailer is currently under way and proving tricky to get all the angles cut neatly!

Some pics of progress.

No
That is the right hinge but it is mounted upside down. The short bit of the hinge should be on the bulkhead so the hinge pin is positioned right on the shut line of the door to the bulkhead.

If you flip it over, flip the hinge pin bolt over as well so the nut remains at the bottom.

I assume this is the wrong bottom hinge for a series 2a 109 , just doesn't look right

Driving up country today, a six hour run and I don't like the radio/ CD player as it has to be turned up enough to hear that it blows out my eardrums.
So driving in silence with time to think. Tyre wear of approx 3k miles. With average mileage at around 11k that's around 4 sets a year.
A big heavy car so expensive tyres, say £200 each to give an annual total of over £3k.
That amount buying diesel for use in a modern turbo diesel would give around 1 3/4 years driving at average miles.
Rough I know but near enough to make a point. Considered in the round just how green is an EV ?

We had a Tesla Y for about 6 months (company car) and you could literally do an entire journey without touching the brake pedal. As you slowed down you got a warning that the brake lights were on - this was from the engine braking not the brake pedal.
Back to the topic in hand.  I had a 2006 Defender 90 SW, put some General Grabber AT2s on at 9k miles and they were still going strong when it was stolen at 105k miles.
