General Discussion / Re: Are they sure ?

It's  modern trend when putting items in a list I've noticed, the rule used to be
item1, item2 and item3
or
item1, item2, and item3 (if using the Oxford comma)

now it seems increasingly acceptable to have
item1, item3, item3

which as that headline admirably shows, can lead to all sorts of confusion.

General Discussion / Re: Brake bleed screw

That's right as far as I know bud, people get all kinds of dramas bleeding them like this. I use a big syringe, hook it up, pull a big vacuum, then undo the nipple, to get a sort of pop of fluid as appears to a slow draw. Seems to get rid of that bubble that lurks at the top. There are loads of different techniques... finding one that works for you is the fun part. 🥴🥴🥴

Went with a group to do some lanes. One person said he had a click on his steering, so that was sorted before we left. Then the brake light wasn't working, but worked when stationary! Diagnosed as a faulty hydraulic switch. Then same vehicle, in 4wd spinning wheels locked its gearbox up. Recovered from the lane be removing the drive flanges.

All in all an eventful day, I'm shattered.

Half crippled myself moving yet more parts from the recent acquisition to my store...

One loaded truck! Thankfully we hired one with a tail lift.

2 Containers... Somehow I've still got to get 5 engines, a rear tub, 4 wings, a truck cab and a swb chassis into these two containers.

No shortage of brake drums, half shafts, wheels and axles. I suspect His Majesty's Armed Forces are short a pair of 109 Salisbury Axles. They are clearly ex-military... Technically I suppose it was under HM the Queen's watch.

General Discussion / Brake bleed screw
Last post by Bigdog - Today at 06:52 PM
Hi, I am trying to get the air out of my brakes and I have noticed that my bleed screws on the front are at the bottom, is this correct and would it not be harder to get the air out than it would if they were at the top, can't really see how the bleed screw can be fitted to the top, anyone came across this, it's a 1970 series 2a 109 ex military, many thanks

Maybe try pangolin 4x4 if you get totally stuck.
can't remember what state they are in, but it's the right continent at least. They might do a trade for the parts you have?

General Discussion / UNF nuts and bolts
Last post by Ken - Today at 05:35 PM
Looking for UNF fasteners I came across A&J fasteners on eBay.
Much cheaper than any others I found and worth looking at the price for 100. For a couple of things I wanted it was less than £1 to increase the quantity from 50 to 100.
