The intense cold suddenly ended this afternoon. I went out to the garage, pottered for a bit, and when I came back to the house it was a different climate. The temperature had risen, all the frost had gone, and it was starting to rain.

'Its warmer here'
Topped mid 30's last 3 days. Same for the next few.
Rear RH hub seal started leaking whilst standing. On the hoist today to check out why.
Breather first.

We struggled to a LRSOC pub meet today, freezing fog in a Series 1 without a heater is no fun!
The return journey after a hearty lunch was slightly better 😊

It's been the mid 30's here too but in Farenheit.

If not the breather it could be the collar on the axle where the oil seal runs causing the leak because it's worn. Mine had a groove in it.

Just on freezing most of day. Heavy rain now.

Hub Seal. All collars replaced with new genuine ones from Blanchards.
Hub seals were new out of an old 'County' brand box with parts I was given. They were a bit hard and have done 25,000klms before leaking.

It's pleasing to read this, many can tell you the part number for his clutch master cylinder, yet go white with fear at the thought of driving. Went to one meet and mine was the sole S2 there. A meet for fakers, you know who you are.

I didn't stay.

No frost here either this morning although it was down to 27F during the night. It's mid 30'sF now, light rain and getting less cold.
