I've never had check-straps, what have I missed?

The warranty is void with out them as in certain conditions and with longer reach shocks they can flex too much which damages them.

Just so you know the 3 leaf parabolics have the new higher reach shocks extended pretty much to their limit I had originally wanted to put 4 leafs springs on and was talked out of it by rocky mountain they said 4 leafs are only for extremally heavily loaded 109s. Glad I went with the 3 leafs.

My RM parabolics came with straps as well.  How did you determine the length for them?

Your right the way it is sitting high right now the shocks are pretty much extended to their limit but I have not driven more than about a mile since I finished the restoration and put the new springs on, it is sitting very high in the back compared to my other dormobile with rearched old style springs
The new shocks are from rocky mountain as well and are supposed to be the extended shock specifically for parabolic springs. I think the vehicle will settle a bit when I get some miles on it, hopefully soon.

Okay I have no clue why the picture came up twice and have no clue how to get rid of one of them. (sorry)

My  parabolics have been on for several years, and I've been driving Grover since December 2019 - the rear has not settled yet.  However, the sidewalls, trop top and rear door are not installed yet.

  Hi Larry

How did I determine the length for the check straps was as follows, with the new parabolics installed  with the supposedly higher parabolic shocks which were extended to the top of there reach. I cut the check straps so the shocks would not go any higher (which could possablly damage them if they got over extended) although they (who ever they are) say that newer style shocks have built in stops so they wont get damaged by being over extended. But the parabolics might.

The Limestone dormobile sits 3.5 inches higher measured at the top of the rear bumper on  32 inch tires (both  Rovers  with basically the same 32 inch high tire) than the Blue one on old style springs which were rearched as high as I could get them with standard shocks. The blue one a few years ago sat a little bit higher.

Just for reference in case any body wants to go out and measure the height of there 109 rovers rear bumpers at 4:39 am in the morning. The heights are as follows.
Blue one Standard springs (rearched) 27 inches.  Limestone one 30.5 inches new 3 leaf parabolics.
