clock lighting

Has anyone had a classic with a clock like this fitted? The lighting for it appears to be from external lights via opaque panels on the casing? I'm wondering what the set-up was? I know an electric movement would be more practical but I really like it's size and mechanical ticking. I'm considering setting it into a 5" blank dash plate to the left of the main dash panel where it will balance the 80mm tacho to the right.

It would have  a bulb holder mounted on a bracket held over the side of the instrument , usually mounted on one of the thumb screws mounting  the clock in the facia. 80" LR  instruments had them, something like this on a bracket You cannot view this attachment.
