Anybody going?
I've had a rush of blood to the head and decided to go provided I can get an MOT on my Range Rover tomorrow. I'll do a small stall - quite a few nice bits of Series stuff to shift, so could be fun.

Anybody who is passing, look out for an silver W reg P38A DSE manual.

I'll be the gormless one trying to make enough money to pay the rent this month... :thud

Severn Valley Area are running the S2 stand, stop by and say hello. I'm going just as a punter.

I'm taking the 6 cylinder with the Severn Valley guys for the club stand, and my Dad and his mate are doing a stall - lots of old Series spares to get rid of between the pair of them! I'll probably get dragged into helping them out too no doubt  :thud

#3
What a great day out yesterday. I barely had chance to speak to anyone or even browse around the other stalls as I got roped into helping out with my Dad and Tony's stall  :shakinghead

We managed to shift most of the spares though, and didn't take much back with us. So happy days!

Cherry on top is we found a spare bulkhead for our 2.6 for just £30! It's been previously shotblasted and had new footwells fitted, but it needs new A pillars and a couple of other patches to get it to 100%. A very good base for a 2024 project though - our original bulkhead has got to the stage where it looks fine from afar, but the closer you look, the worse it gets!

Andy R took this great photo of our 2.6 on display yesterday too.

You got a better space than I did... We were stuffed out in the car park. If I do it again, I'll book an indoor pitch.

'Stuffed in the car park'.
It happens a lot. Much more comfortable indoors.

Agreed - for another £10 not to sit in a hurricane as well will make all the difference. Tempted to do the same for Newbury as well.

Ouch... £60 at Newbury for an indoor pitch. Got to work hard to get that back!

I personally think the indoor pitches at Newbury are a bit out on a limb, I think you're much better off outside with all the other 4x4 stalls.
Malvern yesterday was good for us in the car park as everyone walked past our stand on their way in.
Old Hywel, I don't quite understand your comment, we've had a stall at virtually every Malvern 4x4 spares day since Mark started them and to the best of my knowledge the car park has only been used for sellers for the last two sales while the building works have been going on.
Yesterday's layout was terrible but I understand when the building works are completed the area beside the Stockman Cafe will be hardstanding and we will all be back within the fenced area.

I think at Newbury you are correct. They also tend to be full of trade stands selling cheap and nasty tools and so on. Being out in the field does work well provided you don't get bunged in some deadbeat corner which has happened to me a few times. You need to be in the thick if it or people just can't be bothered to walk that far.

With Malvern, it wasn't great in terms of location, but worked well enough. We did have all the punters coming past so that worked well. It will be nice if we are actually in the site - at least it gives a bit of shelter from the wind.

It was busier than my last visit in February 2023, more stands and the car park was very full.

The outside area by the front gate at Malvern was unfortunate. Hopefully the new building is finished soon so things can be a bit more orderly for the next one! The extra tenner for an indoor pitch was worth it I think.

I agree regarding Newbury - the indoor area is a bit out of the way and is usually full of the cheap new tools stalls.

I've never been to any of the Ripon events. What are they like?
