So is this nato hitch no use

Seems fine to me. As long as you can lock it and stop it rotating if your trailer draw bar ring can rotate. One must be able to rotate, but as far as I am aware not both - that's when it can go a bit wrong.

That hitch is suitable for both fixed or rotating conditions . It is shown in the locked position , so is suitable for a rotating ring on the trailer.  The catch at the bottom can be released so its not engaged with the web,  and the hitch can then rotate so can be used with a fixed ring.

Yeah it can be locked and unlocked but I was put of by a previous reply saying don't use the ones with a pin, maybe I misunderstood

If both the ring and the hitch were locked .... could a laden Sankey overturn a Land Rover? I assume if it CAN happen ... it already has? Maybe the Royal Marines will know?
