Mirror stalks

Ended up making my own mirror stalks, think they look ok and I think I will get 10x6 mirrors instead of the 7x5 ones

What always concerns me with these mirrors is the lack of any form of breakaway. Any sort of impact could well lead to damage somewhere.
I know the wing-mounted mirrors were rigidly fixed, but those didn't extend as far beyond the bodywork.

Don't really stick out that far and if another vehicle was that close then we would be in trouble
