Hello, first post. I've got a 1963 109 it's going to be getting a new chassis and bulkhead. Managed to pretty much strip it all down today with the help of a couple of friends. The reality has set in how big a job this is going to be! Where's the best place to get new leaf springs from? I think I'm going to go for standard not parabolics.

Might be worth trying Jones Springs.

Welcome to the club and looks like you've got a challenging project ahead! I second Jones Springs, put their rear springs on a few months ago and all good since but will take around four weeks, not that you're in a rush by the look of it!

Welcome to the madhouse.

Jones Springs are a good option, but have you considered having the original ones refurbished or doing them yourself? If the leaves are not excessively worn, you can often bring them back to life.

Paddocks do a reasonable set of springs which are good value especially if you make use of our discount available to club members.

Great thanks, might go for a set from paddocks. Mine are a bit ropey and the rear seems to sit too high.
Has anyone bought a complete new wiring loom? Thinking of doing it for mine. Will save a lot of faffing I imagine!

Serious Series

I doubt new springs will make it sit lower.

Like a few of us on here, I've "done" 7 (?) strip odwns and rebuilds, with new chassis, bulkheads, ateering, wiring, brakes etc etc
It may look daunting but it's a big meccano set, so if you are logical, these things are (relatively) straighforward

Plenty of help on here and don't forget youtube videos

Enjoy (but allow 2x £££ than you think)  :cheers-man

Might keep my front springs as they look decent. I'm guessing they are parabolic due to only being 2 leafs. Is it ok for the steering rod that close to the spring? Not overly keen on the rears, seems to sit high. Enough that the rear prop was rubbing on the chassis!?
