Thinking of possibly selling my 1970 series 2a 109 ex military 2 1/4 petrol and was wondering what people's thoughts were on a guide price, I have been doing it up over the past couple of years and it is almost finished, just needs brakes bleeding, and some minor bits and bobs, any thoughts would be much appreciated

Not a great time to be a seller, prices are dropping fast compared to a couple of years ago. Classic car market in general is down. Being in Scotland also cuts down the potential pool of buyers. I'd guess £4000 as is or closer to £6000 if brakes and other bits sorted. Stick it on ebay with a high reserve and see what the market decides.

Sadly one of those inevitable truths, you never get back the cost of the restoration when you sell. Given the effort put in makes sense to keep it iff you can.

i agree, it's a buyer's market atm.

Scotland won't help... only £6000 sorted? I heard things had hardened,  I had no idea - are things that bad?

Darn Sarf, and a few years back, the only question would be "Should we wrap rope three times round the bumper or four?". Assuming galv. everything, you could look for £8-10,000 all day long - you'd fight 'em off.

I have dreams of mine worth about £12,000. Maybe not.

The many times I've heard, "I should never have sold my Rover!" I still wish I had my first one. That said, put a big ask/reserve and put it on Bring a Trailer if you must sell.

All else equal, are milly variants worth more or less, or the same as civvy varaints?
