Making door pillars with the lip

I'm just about to start repairing my 1966 bulkhead, and I'd really like to retain the door seal lip on the A-pillar. I've got a pair of generic fit pillars, without the lip, so I could make one to fit.

Not entirely sure of the best way to do this, so has anyone attempted to add the lip and, if so, how did you do it? I can weld but I do not have a stretcher/shrinker and, ideally, I'd rather come up with a method that won't take as long as learning how to stretch and shrink by hand...

Thanks everyone,
Dan

I'd be interested in this too.
Rob Owen has supplied pillars with the return on them.

I have thought of welding a strip on to do that job, but I think it would be a pig to weld such a small lip. I'm wondering if brazing a strip on might be easier?

Yes, not too much of a bad job. Just carefully butt weld the two together. Think I cut the pillar fold back a bit to give a bit more welding space for the lip. Few years ago since I did it now. I have issues posting pictures so can't show  :shakinghead

This guy did it by welding on a new flange and then bending the lip on to it. Looks painful.

I wondered about welding a new flange in the same way but with the straight part of the lip already bent. Then bending the curved section in situ, which would be much quicker.
