Visited a guy today who was selling some Series Land Rover parts and while rummaging through basement boxes came across what appeared to be genuine period black number plates 491 HUE. Obviously HUE is a well known factory plate.

Are there any resources to try to find out more about 491 HUE?You cannot view this attachment. :ditto

UE is a Warwick County Council number . The Records still exist in the Warwick Archive

491 HUE would have been a 63 ish 2a I believe. There are a few about still with there HUE plates still on them. I can't recall if land rover used any of these series plates at the factory, they probably did, they certainly used xxx HAC plates, along with other typical factory combinations, xxx JUE, DWD, EAC etc. The plate itself does look like a Numo which is what Land Rover did use, but a lot of local dealers also used Numo, so not conclusive proof.

It is a nice bit of garage wall memorabilia regardless of origin  :cheers-man

I've just noticed your in the US? This sounds like a car registered at the factory that was probably a LHD export car that was being driven over via an expedition trip/route , there are quite a few examples of these cars.
