Hi.  I bought a service set but one lead is not long enough by quite a margin.  Im told the coil is in the wrong place (but it's where I've seen others on the bulk head) and should be moved as leads are the correct set for the truck.
Can anyone tell me where it should be located (photo) on the bulkhead please?  1961 SWB series 2a. Thanks

A common one... The part number for the 4 cylinder lead set supercedes to the Ninety / One Ten part number. The coil on that was located differently to that on Series vehicles. It means that in most kits, the king lead is too short or you have to reposition the coil. Your coil should be on the bulkhead slightly to the right of centre at about the same level as the voltage regulator.

Best practice would be just to source a longer king lead.

That said, I've just fitted a LR Genuine Parts set to an engine and I think lead number 1 is too short as well!

That's the location on my 62 which is stock.
The black metal plate behind the coil is just my solution to having striped screw holes for the 2 screws holding the coil bracket to the bulkhead.

Back in the day, good car accessory/rally shops had a board (Bosch) with different length HT leads. You could measure the length you needed and go in and get the lead(s) you needed.
Buy just the one or make up a "custom" set.

Rather than buy a complete HT lead set, there must be online suppliers who can make a lead to length with the connector ends you need  ???
That said, HT leads are a consumable item and need replacing from time-2-time.
