The military seat base (lightweight) 349172 and the basic seat base 349967 look almost the same size in pictures but has anyone got the measurements (depth/width/length) of these 2 bases?
Just tyring to find the best sort for me,
Thank You

Would this on a 1983 Series 3 lightweight help?

I had to give this a try. According to Chat-GPT (see image below) they're similar in size: 450x465 mm. Copilot found the answers to my questions on RST and Paddock's.

The foam part is more complex than I thought, and not as big which may be due to old bottoms being bigger than those on young solders :shakinghead

and thanks again for your update

I'd gladly take the measurements you need on my Series 2a seat base, but I'm not at home. At least not the home where the Rover is. It'll be another two weeks...

I don't know if Lightweight Front Seats are the same size as Series 2 2A & 3 Front Seats.

But as I wanted to rebuild some early SII SIIA Elephant Hide Metal Spring Front Seat Bases - the type that sit on Rails, not in Adjustable seat Frames and to my surprise the 3 types were different sizes:-
- Metal Spring Metal Framed with Hessian bottomed Bases
- Metal Spring with Pressed Metal Bottoms
- Metal Spring with Formed Chipboard Bottoms
