Evening all,
My '58 truck cab has aluminium window channels. I would like to fit similar to the replacement door tops. Does anybody know of a source of the channel?
Thanks.

I am surprised they are made of aluminium my original truck cab 58 were steel channels the result of that they rotted out.

I ended up buying new ones made from stainless steel from the series 1 club and it came with the felt and screws.
All I had to do was cut the channels to the right size

Hi there,

I have trawled through my old emails and found that I used www.sp-4x4.com for mine. This is what I bought three years ago. I bought the black felt seals from Woolies.

Was it the Series 3 club that had extruded nylon/black plastic channels made and available. I bought some years ago.

I've just checked their website and they're still selling it. From reports I've heard it's very good. It can even be used on Defender doors. Unlike the felt it doesn't hold water anf it's literally fit and forget.

158 window channel was actually galvanised steel.  I have fitted standard channel but have glued it in rather than drilling holes for screws

I have never seen any Series 2, early or otherwise Aluminium Window channel.   The Window Spacer Sections which fill the gap between the edge of the window Skin/Frame, Glass and Sliding Window Channel is Pressed/Shaped Aluminium.   The Series 1 Window Channel was also originally Galvanised Steel.

I replace my 58 SII with new Galvanised Steel Channel with Flocked Felt in the Channel Sections, as after 50 + Years the Bottom Channel has rusted, as the bottom sections get soaked in water and even Galvanised will rust eventually.   But I still have the original 58 Fitted Top and Rear Channel Sections as these sections don't rust as much.   See the attached photos.

I believe the LRSOC sell Galvanised Channel in 1m lengths, with Felt Flock & Screws.   I also believe that the LRSOC also used to sell Stainless Steel, but only in the standard Series 1 Window Lengths, but the longest SI Window bottom channel is shorter that the Length needed on the Series 2 window bottom.
