Side-steps - who has them and why?

A lovely vehicle Craig, but isn't it a pity that the aftermarket manufacturers didn't copy the originals - and build them with two bracing bars under the step, rather than one?

Yes, that has bothered me from the day I fitted them to be honest.

I have a plan to make a template in the CAD system, get 10 new plates laser cut, then modify the steps one by one by cutting off the central support and welding on the twin supports.
It's one of those little jobs, I'll do it one day.....

This is the genuine Land Rover step on the driver's side of my Series 3.

SWMBO is 5ft2, so passenger side has a step! Similarly rear door on the Carawagon and we also use a camper step to reach that.

109" SW with side steps - I can confirm the bomb hole on strata florida will 'reform' them! 

Took a bit of straightening!

Mine is 5'4" and is clamoring for side steps.
