Adding to the above and my previous moan about dpd. I ordered some parts from paddock which they shipped promptly via dpd.
I thought ' here we go again' and was correct.
We live on an isolated dark lane, the only property with this post code, nearest other place a quarter mile, nearest in the other direction half a mile.
We hear every vehicle that passes which is almost none. Last night in the dpd delivery window a vehicle blasted past at speed and kept going, the only vehicle all afternoon and evening ( it was dark).
Of course the package didn't arrive, couldn't find the place they say.
Reality is that it's a 11/4 hour drive back to the depot from here. With a delivery supposed to be around 6 pm sunny Jim blasted by so the tracker showed he'd been here but made no attempt to deliver.
Really it's down to the driver, a no good one like last night can do serious damage to a company's reputation.
He will be down for re training when he turns in to work next so dpd say.

Genocache

In the past I've had Craddocks take a week to get order ready for the post, then apply shipping charges, wait for my consent/payment then ship. I now vote with my pocketbook and avoid them.

Have to say - ordered from Blanchards yesterday - checked with them it could go Royal Mail as DPD never deliver. Postman just handed me the parcel. I make it about 25 hours from order to receiving the parts.

I really cannot fault the service - it's a case of getting what you pay for as they are never cheap but they know their stuff and deliver it.

They are just brilliant.  We have to persuade them not to retire

I ordered part's from PA Blanchard earlier in the week. Spent a couple of pounds more than elsewhere. But it's the customer service that you get from them that gets my money. Notification of shipment on Tuesday afternoon, sat waiting for me when I got home from work on Wednesday dinner time.

QuoteHave PA Blanchard decided to stay open & not close?

I've skim-read this thread but I did ask them last year and the reply was that they were basically going to just take it a bit easier and not completely close down as originally flagged.
