WAZE... If it can get me from one side of Kathmandu to the other, it can certainly work ok in the UK. And its free...

I use Here (we go). Formerly knows as Navtech. And, erm, let me see, yes, it will get you from on side of Kathmandu to another :cool Friend of mine, a social geographer, works there. And has been working there almost his entire life. I remember us driving around Eindhoven (they were based at Veldhoven) with Navtech when they had just started, must have been in the eighties? Early nineties? The satnav woman kept telling us to "please make a U-turn" :-) O, and you can use it offline, without traffic info of course...

If you have an I phone then google maps has one built in. I have only used this in the UK.

"Here we go" is also good, and works off-line and has live traffic (also free) Used to be owned by Nokia

Uffddd

Google maps does the job. You can download areas to use it offline if necessary.

There are many other options and probably not many wrong answers though I suspect that many will use data from google anyway.

If you've got an iPhone it'll already have Apple Maps which is also perfectly adequate.

That would have been handy for me yesterday, when my Data went down.
