Got an MOT pass today with a few more advisories than the last on the 4th June's MOT as it has been redone after the brakes failed on the first one so needed doing and even though it has not left the garage it isn't what I expected here's the one from the 4th

Do not drive until repaired (dangerous defects):
Service brake efficiency less than 50% of the required value (1.2.2 (a) (ii))
Parking brake efficiency less than 50% of the required value (1.4.2 (a) (ii))
Repair immediately (major defects):
Front Service brake imbalanced across an axle (1.2.1 (b) (i))
Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Nearside Front Lower Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Offside Front Lower Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Offside Front Wheel bearing has slight play (5.1.3 (a) (i))
Lower Oil leak, but not excessive (8.4.1 (a) (i))
So brakes and wheel bearing done so it has now passed but the advisories now are

Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Nearside Front Lower Suspension component pin or bush slightly worn (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Offside Front Lower Suspension component pin or bush slightly worn (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Nearside Rear Lower Suspension component pin or bush slightly worn (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Offside Rear Lower Suspension component pin or bush slightly worn (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Central Oil leak, but not excessive (8.4.1 (a) (i))
Nearside Valve stem slightly damaged All tyre valve's slight cracking (5.2.3 (j))
Mileage discrepancy on odometer
The speedo cable was broke already on the first mot and one provided to change over as the other broke earlier this year all new tyres last year fitted so annoyingly the valves are bad. and I hope they can tell me were the oil leak is as I would like to get all the work done for piece of mind as well as to make it safe guess I just have to dig a bit deeper in the wallet to pay for the extra work  :confused

Nothing untoward there all easy DIY stuff :RHD

Worn pins / bush = an extra washer may well sort it ( squash the rubber bush a bit more ) otherwise fit a new bush.

Thanks I would still like them to have a look at what is causing the oil leak to see from were it is coming from and get the speedo fixed.

I didn't think they could find more stuff on a retest if the vehicle hasn't left the garage. Mind you, it's a long time since I took a vehicle for an MoT.
1960 88" 2286 petrol truck cab
1971 109" 2286 diesel station wagon

Gotta say whenever I've had an MOT which picked up an oil leak ( modern and classics ) the tester has always specified where it is coming from - central oil leak couldn't be more vague !

At least they said it didn't look serious.

Anyway a casual eye on fluid levels as a part of owner regular checks should pick it up.

Speedo is probably the cable, easily checked by removing the dash and unscrewing the speedo cable and pulling it out to see if it is broken.

It always used to be the case that for an oil leak to matter it had to factually form a puddle: I don't think a mere hanging drip mattered, I just wiped it clean just before the test.
Now under new rules the tester explained that simply "looking wet" counted as advisory-worth.

With a Series Land Rover you'd be worried if there wasn't a drip of oil.

Shows it's got oil inside it !

Not an issue with the mot but I had a new fuel tank fitted under the seat I got it from Paddocks knowing that it does not come with the fuel cap so just thinking my old one would fit was a mistake as it has 4 lugs on the underside and I did not know there were other types for under the seat tanks, well with luck I bought one with the fuel tank filter off e-bay as I needed another filter and it fit but this had 2 pin like lugs on the inside instead of the 4 lug one but on the top you would not know the difference anyone know why they were made different ie mines a 1965 2a maybe the other is off a 2a lightweight ?
