Door mirrors

As most of you know I have been doing up a 1970 series 2a 109 ex military, could anyone post a picture of there door mirrors, looking to find out what would be best for me, I have the hinges with a hole in them, much appreciated

I modified a series 3 door hinge to take 'spring back' mirrors.

That solution works, I like its 'barnyard, use of available resources' approach.  This subject has been done to death.  If it's a 'driver' you want late mirrors.  There's several ways to get there, here's my solution....

If you use the round mirrors like I have on the wings of my one, I can highly recommend getting some new mirror glasses for them from Phoenix wing mirrors. I ordered two 100mm round convex, 2mm thick lenses from them and stuck them to the face of my flat mirrors. I tried getting the mirror apart but couldn't do it without stressing the glass to the point it was going to break so I just stuck new ones on top.

Possible I should have ordered 102mm ones as there is a small gap around the edge.

Certainly makes for a wider image though than the old flat glass did.

My 109 came with those round wing mirrors, what were they 3-4"? I upgraded to 5x7 rectangular mirror for the wing and put on the same at the door hinges. I could never get the right hand hinge side adjusted correctly. I think that is why mine and many US 109's have damaged right rear bodywork. From backing up with bad mirrors. My PO said his dad backed into a log.
    After a few years of this I tried the Defender door mirrors. One of the top 3 mods I've made to my 109! The adjustability and view coverage is #1, a true game changer.   Mainly due to the slightly convex shape, imho.
