Bonnet hinges

Evening all,

I'm curious. Should my '71 2a station wagon (deluxe bonnet) have three bolt hinges with horizontal pins or four bolts like the picture? The bonnet currently has the later hook on hinges with three bolt fixings and I imagine is not original to the vehicle, which came to me as an unfinished project, while the bulkhead has the rolled tubes for horizontal pins.

On a '71 3 bolt hinges are correct. They changed from the earlier 4 bolt hinges in '67.

Does anyone have a pair of three bolt pin hinges they'd care to swap for the pictured four bolt ones?

Off course if you do change from 4 bolt hinges to 3 bolt ones, you will have a spare bolt hole in the bonnet panel that will need filling with another bolt.....

Mine is built in April 67. has the 3 bolt hinges. Not sure when the change over was or if it corresponded with the Suffix D change in April 67?

Is that a S2 female hinge shown in the second photo? Looks more like a S3 'hook' to me.

Why change them? and create a problem that currently doesn't exist!

OH, looking at the passenger side, it's clearer that it's a roll tube.

Just a note that factory station wagons always had deluxe bonnets.

My 69 has 3 bolt hinges, my 66 has 4 bolt.
