Well, this year it's been blazingly hot! Around 100F for more days this summer than in the past 2 decades combined.
Got me to thinking about a/c. Anyone do it? I see there is a reasonable kit out there, minus the compressor. Does the new duct take the place of the current heater duct(Kodiak mk3)?

Can't say that it's an issue foremost in most people's minds this side of the pond Gene. Summer? What summer?

Can't see it being too difficult. The compressor mounts are there on the timing belt housing and their footprint is pretty standard. Space for the condenser, drier and cooling fabs could be a challenge. The evaporator and blower fans I suppose you would have to incorporate into the Kodiak system and obviously switch off the coolant flow circuit so no hot water is getting into the air box.
I see a lot of fabrication and making friends with people who make custom ac hoses. I'd say very tight, but doable.

Thanks for the replies.
Gareth, that's a nice unit as far as it goes, just a heater blower w/ a/c hookups. From the web page;
This is not a complete kit, you will require a 4 Position Fan Switch, A/C ON/OFF Switch, a Condenser radiator, a Compressor, a Receiver/Dryer Bottle, Binary or Trinary Switch, Hoses etc

There is a larger kit with all the bits;

Diffwhine; I know about the condenser mount, I was wondering more if the lower dash fascia fit a series? Hand throttle?  Yes space for the radiator is an issue, especially since I have the military oil cooler.

I have some history with the Defender ac kits. I helped develop one version of the accessory kit with JLR.

I'm sure you could make it work, but don't think you could make the blower duct assembly fit under a metal dash.

I wait to be proven wrong!
