Butyl tape dumdum for floor panels

What thickness of butyl tape aka dumdum should I use for the floor panels? And what's the best way to remove it?  I tried 1/4" and it's too thick - the fasteners no longer fit.  Before I just start buying random thicknesses I thought I'd check here.  And any tips for removing what I put down?  Just a paint scraper?

I used a 4mm x 20mm one side adhesive neoprene tape because easy disassembly is important to me.

once you get it back up, don't put anymore down, always a pain.

just use some old inner tube rubber, easy to put down, replace and move around for maintainence

I used the same sort of thing as Simon except mine was the 3  mm closed cell foam self adhesive strip which I got from yrm panels . Great stuff and as Simon says above you can take floor panels , seat box etc out without being clarted up to the eyeballs . 👍

Which is pretty much exactly what was used on Production for Defender. The only problem with a foam cell material is that even closed, it does trap moisture.
