I have just had a query from a friend , a member of The Dutch Land Rover Register in the Netherlands, who has spent the last 20 years rebuilding his 2A Forward control and has only just got round the registering it. The Dutch Authorities will not accept that the max vehicle weight comprises of  the unladen weight plus payload as stated in the vehicle Handbook. The vehicle number is 30300094 B
They really want to know axle loadings as shown on a  modern VIN plate , but the stated max laden weight might do. and it must be from an official Rover/Land Rover publication . The 2B versions had such a plate when the plating regulations came in. Does any one know if such data exists , I wondered whether to suggest he contacts Michael Bishop.  Can anyone assist?
Thanks Derek

A post to just to update  this query . I spoke to the BMIHT Archive staff at Gaydon & they have been able to provide the info required .  Whether the Dutch authorities will accept it is still to be determined.

I had this same difficulty in Switzerland with "official" documentation from Land Rover for the Dormobile modifications. The inspector challenged me and accused me of cutting a hole in the roof, myself. Luckily, after a few tries, a stack of original brochures I bought on Ebay sufficed (they say, "Land Rover Approved" on them).

I hope the response from Gaydon, etc. suffices this time in the Netherlands! Sometimes the modern inspector just goes by the book and won't take the responsibiilty of making his own decision.
