Greetings,

I am going on a short trip to London with my daughter next Tuesday to Thursday and was wondering about the chance to have a parcel or two delivered to me there.

The address where I'm staying won't accept parcels. Are there postal boxes or places that I could have them delivered to (without signing on or subscribing to a permanent mail box) or is there someone in Central London who would be willing to accept two smallish parcels for me to pick up?

It's a couple of fixings from Blanchads and two secondary looms from Autosparks that I am interested in. Postage and import duties to Germany are silly, hence I am asking. We're staying in Shepherd's Bush, but I can't use public transport too far/long as this would (rightly so) spoil my daughter's sightseeing plans. Maybe I could try to reach somewhere in Greater London in the early morning or evening? We're taking the ferry to Dover so if something is pretty much on the way ...

Cheers
Boris

The Post Office still offers a post restante service, so you could have the parcels delivered to a local post office (www.postoffice.co.uk/mail/post-restante)
Otherwise I'm at crystal palace, about 20 minutes by train from London Victoria. I can be in late wednesday or early thursday if that helps?
Alternatively, if you are driving Shepard's Bush to Dover you might be routed via the A205 South Circular. I'm about 5 minutes off that.

Hello William,
Thanks for the info and your kind offer. I'll look into the post office restante and write back later.

Hi Boris,
I'm close to Shepherds Bush (about a 20 minute drive) and you're welcome to have parts delivered here.

Hi Boris,

I also live near Shepherd's Bush and pass through there most days on my commute.  I would be happy to receive parcels for you can drop them off.

James.

Thanks for all your offers. I have written to Blanchards and Autosparks now to see if they can deliver until beginning of next week. If yes, I think I'll take up James on his offer as I might be able to walk and meet him on his commute.

I've checked post offices in the vicinity and there are quite a few but I am not sure if they offer poste restante as it is not stated explicitly on their branch services pages. I have filled in a form though and maybe they get back to me.

Thanks again all for your kind offers of help!

Boris
