What spin on oil filter housing will fit 2.3 petrol?  I've seen HRC2504 (for 300Tdi) or HRC2019 (for 200tdi)  do any of these fit?
thanks in advance :oil-spill

The one in the parts book is ETC5347 which is the same as the 2.5 one.

Well the simple answer is there's at least three. All fit. Two of which appear near identical, yet have differing part numbers. Wittsend was offering this a week or so back in the 'Parts for Sale HRC2019. It allows for an oil-cooler. Was fitted to 200TDi.

Then as AD says there's ETC5347. Which is broadly the same thing, except no oil-stat.

And then there's the mystery item. I've seen it nailed to all variants of the 5MB engine. From S3 installs to 11H and 17H. But never 200TDi. And I don't know what the number for this version is. Covered in another thread, I still don't...

It's not in any parts list I can find.

AD has it as an after-market part. Maybe only I'm not so sure, yet I'm no wiser. I've got three of them, and they're everywhere:

Is anyone able to nail-down what it is, part number etc?

As I posted on another topic it's likely to be an aftermarket non genuine version.

I'm struggling with that account, and you could be right AD. Only, I put up roughly a dozen pix to show it as commonplace. With the mod's grace I've more, and one of my 5MB was bought new with one. It's not rare. Reckon it's an LR part for sure.

Someone knows what this is? This is 'The Unknown' in pix of 17H - various. 2.5 N/A next? Rare it isn't.  If I've not bored you yet, be patient.

Still digging, I can't see logic in this as an aftermarket item. If correct, what was there before, and why swap en masse? Aftermarket stuff is intentionally over-stated, obligatory anodised-blue & large logo etc. This makes no attempt at snorkel and chequer-plate panache. I'm convinced it's an LR part.

I had 3 x of these. Just sold one to a parish member. It smells of a factory item, not shonk. Mind, can't prove this - this leaves any take, as good as mine. Searches have me at a dead-end.

From what I can see looking at EPC, there are two variants for the 2.25 and 2.5 5mb bearing engines on One Tens / Ninetys. The one "Less AIr Cooled" is p/n ETC5347 and the one "With Air Cooling" (oil cooler fitted obviously) is ERR1347. You can never rely in EPC screen images, but it suggests that ETC5347 is supplied with blanking plugs, but is in fact broadly similar to ERR1347.

This part may not be unique to LR though. The engines as diesels were used in London Taxis for a start. Also, what gets fitted on the line in production may not be the same as that which is available as a replacement part, so my guess is that they just fitted a generic unit which is obviously cheaper to make on many of the 5Mb engines

Thanks DW. From a different direction that was a far as I got:

ERR1347
ETC5347
HRC2019

Are all broadly the same part. With or without oil-coiler/blanking-plate, depending on if it's a Tuesday. The mystery version is none of those, or maybe it is. Just that, as you say, order for example... ERR1347, and in production it was our mystery fitment, however, order its replacement and it's something else.

I fitted A Santana spin on filter housing on my S3 Daily.
It came from Cyprus.
Don't know what part number.
Will have a look.

Thank you WB64. I think I've found your Santana version, only it's different again?! See below.

Not sure why I care. This started with my attempt to identify mine for sale. Now sold it matters less, the buyer seems less worried? However I like to know, because...

Anyway, here's a pic of the Santana 112486 version, suspect this is yours?
