What is the cover/guide called that goes around the high/low selector lever

Good evening all.

A quick question, my series 2a is missing the ?metal? guide cover/gaitor that the high/low selector (yellow knob) goes through, so the whole arrangement is just flapping around.

The gear/4wd/handbrake are all rubber gaitors, but I think I'm right in saying this is a metal bracket/guide.

Does anyone know what it is actually called, as I can't find a replacement one online. A link would be super helpful if anyone knows!

Am looking for the item and the fixings for it.

Thank you!

There are at least 3 on Ebay at the moment, one of which I have just found described as
"Land Rover Series cover plate for 4 wheel drive rod".
They are all about £25 each.

No need to be sorry I was just curious and certainly not judging.

You can get a free PDF from the web @  http://www.smithies.co.nz/land_rover/

I'd suggest downloading a copy of anything of interest just in case the site ever goes down permanently.  :RHD

A suitably sized washer does the job if the OP is missing his. My offer for the one I posted a pic of still stands :cheers-man

I like that gear lever gaiter in Larry S's post above.  I can't get my hard rubber gaiter to fit properly.

I bought a new original Series 3 petrol sender unit for about £35 from them recently. Far superior to the dreadful Britpart things.
