I have just also noted in the optional catalogue the OP bonnet mount is listed for 1 Ton vehicles with 9.00 x 16 tyres

Quote from: Craig T on Nov 13, 2023, 11:14 AMThe doors changed very little over the years until the one piece, steel door with the glass held in with a rubber seal came along with the last of the Defenders.

The only difference with the 90 / 110 carriers and the series carriers is the series carrier had short studs so the wheel mounted on the door in reverse, the dirty oily inside of the rim faces the outside.

Visually, this is almost true, except of course with the advent of the One Ten, the door had to take an extra hinge - and the spare wheel moved significantly upwards and to the right. So the mounting holes are in a different place.

The internal steel stucture also changed as spare wheels got bigger and heavier.

Aftermarket rear doors often have the slide channel for the door restraint in a different (higher) position, as on later vehicles the restraint link was mounted to the side of the seatbox, rather than the floor.
