But... Peter ordered them to be sent to me... I also placed an order on them
yesterday for some other gearbox parts and mine didn't arrive. :thud

Must be favouritism...

When I order something from Blanchards, it usually arrives the next day.

diffwhine

Definitely favouritism then... Mine arrived this morning so can't complain.

Blanchard's offer a great service. Nick is very helpful. Many a time have I pestered him for info/photos of parts and he always obliges.

Have PA Blanchard decided to stay open & not close?

I had previously read that PA Blanchard's were planning to close at the end of 2023?

I see PA Blanchard's are still advertising to both Sell Parts & Buy Part Job Lots.

PA Blanchard's is one of the best places for NOS and Genuine Land Rover parts.

Genocache

When I order from Blanchards it always takes a week.........

That is pretty good going from Yorkshire to the US of A.  With other companies in the UK it often takes a week to travel 100 miles

Yes but when it's in stock most UK LR providers are about the same. Heck I've had US LR suppliers take 2 weeks....

I don't 'get' this thread. If I read thsi right, when your order arrives quick, the seller is good? When the item arrives slower...

Er... are we sure, could it be?

1. The seller despatched quick, the courier delivered quick.
2. The seller despatched quick, the courier delivered slow.
3. The seller despatched slow, the courier delivered quick.
4. The seller despatched slow, the courier delivered slow.

Even if we're at scenario 1, - thus everything fell into place- where no one seriously thinks a sender has control over courier/mail networks, can somebody explain how the seller gets the fanfare?

Good sellers use a good courier, whose failure to deliver rate, or tendency to throw the parcel over the gate rate, is very low.

Good sellers also tell you when the parcel has been despatched, so you can tell if it is a courier failure.

Good sellers package the items securely and well wrapped.

We customers are not stupid, we have experience of all types of seller, all the reasons for delay, and all the excuses.

If we consistently recommend a particular seller, don't fight it!

...and some couriers will text or email the buyer to give a delivery window.

...... and some couriers insist that they've repeatedly tried to deliver, and offer collection from their depot, 20 miles away.

Seems a lot are using DPD these days.
My Blanchards order, all joking apart, was 48 hours and no problems. Their fixed postage prices can hurt a bit when just buying small stuff, but can't really complain about that - it's always well packed and complete.

Shout out for Paddocks too if I may. Yesterday I ordered a wheel bearing kit for my Range Rover on their 2-4 working days free carriage option. I've just received a DPD notice saying it will arrive this afternoon. Looks like I'll be doing a wheel bearing on a P38 tomorrow if my press is up to it.
