Tar removal

Should I remove all the tar that's on my Land Rover series 2a 109 ex military so I can see exactly what the chassis is like, thanks

A big job to remove all of it. I gave up after finding that if it did not scrape off easily, there was usually shiny metal behind it. I ended up going over it with a scraper and removing anything loose/dry making sure I got back to shiny around any loose patches.

as above, its a pain to remove, usually you do more harm than good, just remove any that looks like its falling off or splitting, as those are the spots water gets in. otherwise i'd leave it
