These are genuine Town and Country.
No, I won't be using them.

Careful Glen, last outing when suggested there is social-responsibility - even if not legal-requirement - to run tyres vaguely 'in-date' there was uproar. Something along the lines of "I won't be told; I own an LR... hence common-sense doesn't apply to us; still got tread; I feel they're OK;  facts are evil, etc etc".

I see  new 7.50R16LT Hifly Tral Van are roughly £300 all corners done. Beats Michelin at a  £1000ish. No clue what they're like;  few could argue with the price.

I'll take punt on them (7.50R16LT Hifly Tral Van tyres) when the time comes.

The code ending 4517 on the Firestone does not look like a tyre DoT code, the one pictured by Glen has the correct spacing.
Part of my job was recording them, but that was early 2000's so they may have changed over time.
2017 may be old for a 'new' tyre but recommended life is ten years for Commercials so well within it's 'recommended' life span.
But as we know, how it has previously been used and stored can make a big difference to it's condition.

John. I hope you had the roof down on that Singer. Our local Vicar has one.
I don't know what tyres the British Army currently fit, but my guess is they will be fitting them to something Japanese or German in the near future ?  :confused

What about BF Goodrich all terrain K02

Best tyres I ever had. Quite expensive now and some sizes hard to find.

What size are you contemplating? They certainly appear competent on their spec sheet, but in 235/85R 16 flavour they're about £220 a tyre.

GlenAnderson

I run 235/85 General Grabber TR on my 109", which have really good road manners and help with the economy, but are more road oriented than off road.

235/85/16 BF Goodrich Baja Champions all terrain is what I am thinking

UK MOD - Goodyear G90 or Michelin XZL are the most common fitments

So are the K02 not suitable

I've had them on my 109 for nearly 2 years now (8000+ mls) and have no complaints
whatsoever.
They're pretty quiet, look very robust and do everything I need them to.
As has been said, for the money you'd be hard pushed to beat them.

At the end of the day, tyre choice is a very personal issue and there will always be multiple opinions. Why not go to a LR event local to you and talk tyres with owners and have a look at what people have fitted and what you think looks right?

Unfortunately there isn't any LR events near me

Just looked at those Hifly tyres and I must admit they look pretty good, how are they in wet etc, thanks
