Hi, where is the best place to get door seals for a series 2a 109, I assume they are held on with rivets, thanks

DogDave

There's a good article in one of the previous built to last mags by someone that's done recently- I think within the last year or so. Covered suppliers and how to do it etc.

Does anyone know where you can buy the early Series 2 Front Door - Bulkhead to Front Door Edge Door Seal - these are what I would call the 'Reversed Rubber Type'

Please see photo of the Bulkhead to Front Door Edge Door Seal - 'Reversed Rubber Type'

It was done by Craggle and was in either last Summer or last Autumn's B2L. I followed it up with a thread on the old forum which is still there.

Summer 2022 in fact, p. 44. Must have missed that. Interesting, because the doors on my S2a have never shut properly, standing out at the B-post on both sides. And the opening paragraph sums up the problem very nicely.

Thanks I have dug out and re-read the Built to Last article on Door Seals and whilst it answers the question of making doors easier to close by effectively using Softer better quality rubber - If I am understanding correctly the COH Baines Land Rover Door Seal used is the same basic profile as the 'Bent Over' Land Rover Door Seals.

See the attached photo - other than using the LRSOC rubber door seals does anyone know where to buy the Original land Rover Lower Bulkhead to door 'Rear Facing' Rubber Door Seals ?

Never new that was what the original front seal looked like assumed they were all the same profile, it looks a bit similar to the rear door bottom seal.

These original early Series 2 Front Door - 'Reversed Rubber Type' Bulkhead to Front Door Edge Door Seals were fitted originally to my 58 Series 2 - years ago Dunsfold had some New Old Stock - But I have not seen any since Dunsfold Closed.
