Ok this is vague but a good Series story.
Alfred Molina, husband of Jill Gascoigne played an ex getaway driver trying to go straight, but as is often the case, his old firm wanted one more job.
He has a Series 3 LWB for use on his smallholding and two comic heavies are after him in a Capri.
His friend has 'improved' the Series (V8?). They are chasing him along country lanes, he loses them and turns into a field.
From which he reappears behind them and becomes the chaser ! 😀

The appearance woke me up and elicited a SCHUSH ! from SWMBO. 😉

As much as I like seeing series land rovers, there is no way I could myself through the misery of watching a rom com! I think you should watch it again and advise us all of the times in the film that they're on to save us all the pain!

I'm not quite so anti-romcom though it was a bit of a yawn until the first of the unexpected "stars" appeared on the airport pickup run.

Here they are on the way to the wedding  :RHD

I think there're a late 2A. an early 2A or a 2 and a 3.

If you want a ROMCOM with Series Land Rover content you could do no worse than Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Are you sure you didn't mean "do worse"???

Wittsend

I don't know the best way to describe it  :confused

My take is that if you enjoyed the film (as I did), then "could do worse" fits.

If you really didn't enjoy it, then "could do no worse".   :cheers

Green Defender 110 Station Wagon R765 YLA has just made an appearance in an episode of Midsomer Murders I'm watching. It's taxed and MOT'd to April 2025 and has a couple of MOT failures for relatively minor items but not corrosion.
Series 3 Owner but interested in all real Land Rovers.

Check out the ORIGINAL Judge Dredd (Sylvester Stalone) Movie.

The yellow taxis are 101s
You can see the green oval Land Rover emblems on the side.

I've been fortunate to have driven one!

There was one at a Land Rover event at Thruxton Circuit June 2022. It holds the lap record for a Judge Dredd vehicle around the circuit (about 6 minutes).
They look difficult to drive with the limited vision.

Richard Hammond's Workshop has a 4 door 110 commercial VU62 NWK.
It failed its 2024 MOT and one a couple of years previous on a seriously deteriorated ball joint cover. Cheap pattern part .

Built by Dunsfold and based on 101 forward control I believe.

Another Midsomer Murders Land Rover. This time a 1955 LWB Series 1 grey truck cab with a 2,495cc diesel so probably a Tdi and currently taxed.
