If you have time...chassis #  24428749C
                    engine #  3060137K

If you are overwhelmed with requests feel free to drop mine

Thanks again

Cheers Jeff, it's great to have your truck - one of my tasks for Friday was to deal with some of the larger gaps in the database and you just halved a gap of 800 vehicles with your 88" LHD petrol!

Will be happy to look it up. Can I check the engine number - looks 1 digit too short? It would have had an engine starting with the numbers 252 originally, so maybe its not an LR engine, making the number correct, but it'd be great if you could confirm. What colour is it btw?

My pleasure Dave - the FCs are one of my 'to do's generally. I've got yours down as a red export 6-cyl, registered in May 1972 if that's right. Be great to have the engine number.

If its not to late chassis No 141100002 1961 series 2 station wagon.

many thanks

Mycroft

I have some on yours already Malcolm - went to Rover Tech Sales, Solihull and was built on 6/9/60 - the 2nd 1961 model home market petrol I believe. Some of these old entries are worth checking at source tho, so I'll let you know if the factory records differ.

Hi,

I would be very grateful (if you have time) to add this ex SADF 2B to your list.

Chassis number 33200326F
Engine number 33001567A

Thanks,
Graham

Hi James

Good catch...It's just my inept keyboarding skills!

The engine # should actually be 30601373K

The truck is currently marine blue. The engine is a very odd combination of a "gold" colored head and dark blue block, so if it is original, i assume it's been rebuilt to some degree by a PO

Thanks again
Jeff

Ah thanks. I'm not familiar with any engine starting '306' - 366 is a 5 bearing diesel engine, but 306 is a new one on me.

Will do Graham. That's the original engine btw - you probably know, but fits perfectly with the sequence. Beefing up the FC knowledge is one of the goals of my Gaydon visits, so its great to have a specific RHD CKD 6-cyl to look up. What colour is it btw?

Happy to Ray. Do you have the engine number and colour for my records? Reg date too if it's to hand.

Yours is a good one to look up as all the vehicles around it were supposedly built on 1 Sep 1958 - which seems unlikely - normally you see lots of different dates, so I'm glad to have an excuse to check this range of vehicles.

306 not listed in James Taylor's book on Series 3 Land Rovers. Maybe it's a reconditioning number.

It is Red and a 2.6 6 cyl. I don't know any history on it and DVLA won't help so export is a surprise but could easily have gone overseas and come back. It's a Carmichael fire engine conversion on it.
