I have been continuing to get an annual MOT, using the MOT as a third party check.
My last MOT expired on 12 July 2024.  I plan to get another MOT.  However can I continue to drive the vehicle taking advantage of the 40 year rule or does it need an immediate MOT?
When I look at the MOT History at https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/ it says in red
This vehicle's MOT has expired
Note that the DVLA record correctly states that my vehicle was manufactured in 1964 and first registered on 22 September 2001.  (it was an export to the US where I bought it in 1995 and brought it back to the UK when I returned in 2001).
1964 SWB SW. Sold by Land Rover New York, I purchased it in West Virginia, when I lived in the US, brought back to England in 2001

If you look at the taxed status section if it's MOT exempt there will be a green panel reading "No Results Returned" which means it's ok.
With the red warning in the MOT section it states that the vehicle may be MOT exempt.
