Evening all,

I responded to an advert on the S2C Facebook page by a Kevin Miller earlier for a variety of items for sale including 2 s2 gearboxes for £60 each including transport so I thought I'd take a punt for a learning stripdown project. The original post has gone after comments were turned off. The guy doesn't have a great deal of personal info on his page and wants payment to his son via PayPal. I'm growing a bit suspicious since the post has disappeared. Does anyone know him or is this suspicious?

I saw the post, a lot of series stuff at very cheap prices, seemed to be his first post, looked too good to be true, then it disappeared, I assumed it was a scam.

There seems to have been a spate of scam 'for sale' posts on various Land Rover pages on Facebook. If it looks too good to be true then its probably a scam!

Aye. I quietly deleted my location details from our messenger communication and blocked him.

I saw the post, thought it looked too good to be true. It was a list of all the usual hard to find parts at knockdown prices, posted on lots of the Land Rover series selling sites, with comments turned off and inviting private messages.

It just didn't sit right with me, and I thought it was a scam. I feel for anyone who has already sent payments to him...  :cheers-man

If you paid with PayPal, you can get it back from them

Space-Kook

Only if you paid them as a business, anyone asking for friends and family (eg. to avoid fees) is a scammer because PayPal won't refund those transactions.
