Missing bolt

Whilst crawling around under my wagon today I noticed a hole with a thread.

I'm assuming it shouldn't be empty!

When I looked at the manuals on the members section. I couldn't quite figure out what it was missing.

Would someone kindly inform me what this is plugging and what fluid level is now completely empty (and where do I fill it up!)

It's supposed to be empty, you put a wading plug in there if you are going to go through deep muddy water, it's open to let any oil that may end up in the bellhousing out.

The plug would be in the supplied tool kit or screwed into a bracket attached adjacent to the hole .

I found one of those in my bucket of bits last week. I thought that was what it was, now I am sure.

It should bolt on to one of the flywheel housing bolts at the bottom. Usually at the first clutch replacement, it got jettisoned.

As posted ^^^ unless you are into extreme pay & play mud pit off-roading not really needed. If you are just going through the occasional ford, don't worry about a bit of water getting in. Best leave the plug out and let anything in the bell housing drain out.

If you must have a plug it's 1/4" BSP thread size available from all good plumbers merchants.

If you don't have the plug and bracket you could be marked down in a Concours d'Elegance competition.
