Have any members imported their Series2 to France and re-registered it there as a "voiture de collection"? Especially  post Brexit. Links to others residing in France would be welcome.

Yep.
I got mine registered in France.
I used this office to get insurance while I sorted the paperwork and French version of the MOT. Start the process as soon as you get there and you may need help from a specialist unless you have a french citizen friend who has access to the online system you'll need.
