Hi folks.

I have just rejoined after a few years doing other things but my trusty old girl who I have owned for 12 years has recently had some much needed repairs and she is almost back on the road. She is a 1964 ex military 88" GS still standing in military garb and with an original army recon engine fitted before demob.

She's been away for three years (longer than expected) having new rear tub sides, rear crossmember, rear springs, chassis clean and paint and a few other things. I have been prepping and hand painting for the last couple of weeks and drove her to the fuel station for a fill up, only to find the underseat (military) tank has split a seam. New tank expected today so hopefully back on the road soon.

Anyway, it's good to be back and I look forward to joining in.

Cheers

Simon

Welcome back!
If you use the quick reply button, you can't post pictures. If you use the reply button at the end of the last post, you will get an option to attach files. Just try to keep the file sizes on or around 1Mb or less. Anything more and things start to get a bit worked up. Also those of us living in more remote locations get crucified on download time and cost.

Typically I have a brand new underseat tank here which needs a good home, but its probably a bit late now.

Thank you :) I have just read the guide and have now added pics, although they may still be a bit large for rural internet, sorry. I wish I had asked sooner as I now suspect the tank arriving today needs a different fuel cap to my original 64 model (with 4 prongs). It seems that all the new ones are made to use a two prong fuel cap, but they don't include them! Oh well, if you can't solve problems you shouldn't own a series Landrover I suppose!

And this one has a new cap...  :cheers

Actually those file sizes are quite manageable. Its when you are running on some dialup in the middle of the African bush that things get a bit frustrating, but with Starlink, things aren't quite so difficult any longer.

Thanks. I have pm'd you. The new tank has arrived and the old 4 lug cap won't fit. It needs a two lug cap....
